Long Island Museum of Art, History and Carriages



LIM, The Long Island Museum as it is know, is Located at 1200 RT 25A Stony Brook, New York .

Need something to do on a rainy day?  The Long Island Museum is a great place to start.  Located on the site of an old lumber mill dating back to 1874.  In the historic Three Village area of Stonybrook, Setauket and Old Field.   Just minutes away from Smithaven Mall and the State University of New York Stony Brook campus.
The Long Island Museum is dedicated to inspiring people with an understanding of American Art, History and Carriages.
The Museum is an accredited member of the American Association of Museums and a Smithsonian Affiliate.
Created on land purchased by prominent citizens Ward Melville, founder Melville Corporation today its know as CVS Corporation. Built on the site of an old lumber mill dating back to 1874. Sign of the mill are still visible today.
The Long Island Museums' collection includes photos, documents, clothing, artwork, carriages and more.
The carriage collection was featured on News 12 long Island hosted by Dannelle Campell.

Located at 1200 Route 25a Stony Brook, New York just west of the turn.
Open 10am - 5pm Thursday thru Saturday and 12pm - 5pm Sundays.
Admission is $10 per person, $7 for seniors, $5 for students 6 - 17. Children under 6 free.
